A Boat Restaurant Opens Business By Yangcheng Lake, Weiting Township
Bridges and pavilions and towers over limped rippling waters, a 3-story boat-shaped restaurant, over 3,000 square meters in area and adorned by lotus ponds, received its first guests recently by the picturesque Yangcheng Lake, Weiting Township, SIP. “The Garden Boat” by name, the restaurant features natural poultry, fresh-water aquatics, home-stew dishes, and seafood such as shark’s fin and abalone, and is managed by a team of New City Garden Hotel professionals, who aim to uplift the service to that of star hotels in what is known as “food and leisure street”, formed in over recent years by the famous Yangcheng Lake, a haunt for people of Suzhou and Shanghai, where eating places and entertainment centers abound.
The interior of the boat restaurant is never short of classical settings. The lobby is dominated by a large-sized Chinese painting that portrays the folk custom of Weiting Township, and further down, the guests will be enthralled by delicate bridges, latticed windows with rustling bamboo behind, rockery, balustrade, and changing vistas of a classical garden. In contrast to the garden style, there is at the same time a royal air of magnificence: gorgeous scarlet-painted pillars with golden dragons coiling around them, elaborately carved beams with peony patterns, red-painted gates with bronze knuckles, terraces for viewing the landscape of the lake, etc. The facilities here cater to different demands of guests, from small gatherings to large banquets.
