Suzhou Delegation Visiting JTC & URA
Suzhou Delegation visited Jurong Town Corporation (JTC) and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) yesterday in Singapore.
In Jurong, the delegation visited chemical industry island. Mr. Wang Rong, Member of Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Party Secretary of Suzhou Municipality discussed with Mr. Chong Lit Cheong, CEO of JTC on the operational mode, environmental protection measures and tourism.
In Singapore Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), Mr. Tan Siong Leng, Deputy CEO of URA briefed the delegation on Singapore plan. Mr. Wang Rong noted that, Singapore made effective use of every inch of land and created a garden city of excellence suitable for people’s living, working and recreation, which was valuable experience worthy of adapting by Suzhou.
At the banquet held last night in the Shangri-La Hotel, the delegation met with many old friends once joining the development of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP).
Mr. Wang Rong noted that he was pleased to meet old friends and make new friends in Singapore. For the past 10 years, many Singapore government officials and businessmen made great contributions to the development, investment promotion of SIP and carried advanced experience to Suzhou. SIP had grown from a farmland to one of the most competitive industrial parks in China. All the achievements of SIP were closely related to the efforts of both sides. And Mr. Wang believed China Singapore cooperation must have a bright future.
Mr. Ong Boon Kwee, permanent secretary of Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) of Singapore noted that he cherished his experience with SIP. Singapore friends were proud of SIP’s achievements. Singapore experience had been successfully transferred to Suzhou, and so far over 1400 officials were trained in Singapore. Mr. Ong noted that SIP was sure to achieve its goals.
